THE ARTIST
Nadia has always been drawn to the interplay of fantasy, illusion, and the creation of desire. Her practice explores the nuanced and often contradictory ways we relate to one another— mystical, performative, and deeply psychological. Her practice is rooted in exploring the tension between the frivolous and the profound, the ridiculous and the sincere. Influenced by the cultural aesthetics of ‘fashion’ & ‘style’ magazines, the advertising in them and the visual codes they perpetuate. She uses visual language to both seduce and subvert, inviting the viewer into a realm where surface and substance continuously blur.
At the heart of her work is a fascination with how identity is both performed and concealed. Her paintings act as psychological mirrors, reflecting internal landscapes that are often at odds with the way we present our physical selves to the world. They expose what lies beneath the surface: vulnerability, age, desire, comic absurdity, and artifice.Drawn to the trivial and the absurd she is interested in how humour can both deflect and reveal, acting as a coping mechanism and revealing deeper discomforts we prefer to ignore. In the interplay between what is laughable and what is unsettling, Nadia’s work finds a sharp, often mischievous edge, reflecting the contradictions of contemporary culture while allowing moments of levity to coexist. At once seductive and unsettling, playful and arresting. Through it, she invites viewers to confront the distance between appearance and truth, and consider the fictions we construct, both for others and ourselves.

BIO
Nadia was winning prizes and awards while studying at St. Martin’s School of Art, but it was while studying for her postgraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Arts, Nadia really began her career by being nominated for The Times’ International Painting of The Year Award, quickly gaining recognition in both London and New York. Her early success included awards and accolades on both sides of the Atlantic, making her mark in New York’s art and design scene, where high fashion, subculture, and a strong physicality collided in her work.
Returning to London, Nadia founded a creative agency that pushed the boundaries of visual culture, exploring new creative channels and the emerging potential of VR & AI. Alongside this, she continued to receive high-profile commissions and residencies, creating bespoke works for leading entities across the UK and France. Collaborating with product designers she evolved her practise creating products for the Conran shop. Her artwork has been exhibited internationally and has been profiled in The Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Style Magazine, Elle Decoration, and numerous Design & Architectural Journals.
Currently, Nadia brings a renewed focus to her personal practice, returning to canvas and the raw, intimate space of the studio with sharpened intent. Always with a sharp sense of humour, her work dives headfirst into fantasy, identity,, and illusion, where beauty meets chaos and desire masks deeper truths. With a renewed confidence in herself as a person and as an artist, Nadia is less worried about showing the real and authentic self. Failures have only strengthened her conviction to be herself, and create and show her work unapologetically.
